YOUR TEAM & YOUR MISSION
The Engineering Team at Eskimi tackles complex adtech challenges with a focus on delivering business value quickly. Engineers build both scalable infrastructure and high-throughput, low-latency systems, solving complex problems that demand deep system-level thinking beyond the reach of AI tools.
The culture is built on making decisive technical choices that drive business outcomes. The team moves fast from problem identification to solution deployment, prioritizing impact over perfection.
In this role, you'll join the bidders team - the engineers who own the core of our real-time bidding platform - while also using AI as a practical tool to ship faster, write better code, and take on work that would otherwise require a much larger team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Build and ship features on our real-time bidding platform - at 200k+ QPS, performance and correctness are non-negotiable
Use AI tools hands-on to ship code faster — own what you build end-to-end, from the first prompt to production deployment
Contribute to rewriting and modernising parts of our legacy platform, using AI tooling to move faster without cutting corners
Work across the full stack when needed - this isn't a role where backend engineers stop at the API boundary
Help shaping how the team works with AI day-to-day — what goes into the workflow, what doesn't, and how we raise the bar over time
WHAT WILL HELP YOU DO IT
Engineering Foundation
4+ years of backend engineering experience in a compiled, statically-typed language - Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, C#, or Scala (we use Scala; we'll help you make the switch if your fundamentals are solid)
Comfortable with distributed systems: consistency trade-offs, failure modes, async processing
Experience with relational databases and at least one in-memory or NoSQL system (Redis, Aerospike, Cassandra, etc.)
You've shipped things to production and kept them running - monitoring, alerting, on-call mindset
Working experience with Git, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
AI & LLM Experience
You've built and deployed at least one LLM-powered feature in a real product - not just a demo or a hackathon project
You know how to design prompts for reliable, structured output - and what to do when the model doesn't cooperate
You've thought about eval strategy: how do you know if your AI feature is working, and how do you catch regressions?
You understand the cost/latency/quality trade-offs between models and know when not to use an LLM at all
Bonus: experience with RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, or vector databases
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Flexible work arrangements: Hybrid work models in cities with physical offices, and remote work options everywhere else. With our hybrid model, Eskimians enjoy Work Away Days—up to one month of fully remote work each year—and flexible schedules, typically beginning the day at 9 a.m. locally.
Professional development opportunities: Grow with programs like Leaders Assembly for managers, mentorship programs for growing talents, regular learning sessions, and access to external consultants. Our internship programs also serve as stepping stones for career starters, often leading to full-time roles within the team.
Recognition & rewards: Your efforts matter, so we reward contributions with bonus programs and Bonusly, our peer-to-peer recognition system that turns appreciation into points for gifts and vouchers.
Additional perks: Private health insurance (location-dependent), volunteer days, and team get-togethers both online and in-person to foster meaningful connections in Eskimi.
Take a day off to celebrate your birthday! Everyone deserves to unwind and enjoy their special day, so we provide an extra day off just for your birthday.
Salary: €3,300 – €4,800 gross per month, depending on experience and skills.
